Our U.S. bank subsidiaries, Morgan Stanley Bank N.A. (MSBNA"), Morgan Stanley Private Bank, National Association (MSPBNA"), collectively, (the U.S. Banks") accept deposits, provide loans to a variety of customers, including large corporate and institutional clients as well as high to ultra-high net worth individuals, and invest in securities. The U.S. Bank Subsidiaries seek a Vice President (VP) to join the First Line Business Risk team to provide risk oversight for the U.S. Banks Shared Services (Operations, Technology, Finance, Treasury, HR, COO Office, etc.) which support the US Banks Business Units. This team is one of the teams that comprise the Business Risk Management organization. He or she will be responsible for aiding in the build out of a Dedicated Business Risk Coverage team for the Banks shared services which is responsible for establishing risk management coverage model of working with the various key stakeholders within the shared services embedded risk teams ensuring continuous and consistent monitoring and escalation of the various risk frameworks (e.g. Issues/Action Plans, Operational Risk Incidents, Metrics, Reporting, Risk Assessments). In addition, he or she will be responsible for aiding in the build out of the First Line risk coverage for the Bank Business Risk organization. The individual will work with management and risk partners covering various Bank risk management oversight responsibilities as well as aiding in execution of key initiatives and projects while ensure compliance with U.S. Banks risk management policies and procedures.
The VP U.S. Banks First Line Business Risk Officer will be responsible for the following:
Job Responsibilities:
• Ensure the Business Risk Program includes elements to identify measure, monitor, control, and report on the current and emerging risks and mitigating control environment in accordance with regulatory requirements and guidelines.
• Implement sound risk management practices in support of the Banks Operational Risk frameworks, including Risk and Control Assessments (RCSA), Operational Risk Incident Management, Issues and Actions Management
• Collaborate with stakeholders and across all three lines of defense to confirm comprehensive and consistent practices are followed to allow for a successful oversight program that proactively manages and assesses operational risk.
• Confirm effective management metrics are in place to adequately identified risk to manage across impacted business lines.
• Support U.S. Banks Shared Services functions with both internal (Internal Audit) and external (Regulatory) exams impacting those respective areas. This includes, but is not limited to, review of requested documentation prior to submission, and inclusion in exam meetings with stakeholders (i.e., process and control walk throughs, issue identification, etc.).
• Attend and participate in relevant management meetings and committees.
• Implement written procedures for area of responsibility to ensure consistency and compliance with regulatory and Bank expectations.
• Support the Bank's execution of key projects and initiatives, including process, risk, and control identification and assessments, risk remediation, and operational readiness.
Required Experience:
• 10+ years of professional risk management experience in financial services industry; preferably in a highly regulated environment. Experience in operations, finance, compliance, or audit is a plus.
• Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Finance, Accounting, Economics (Preferred).
• Project Management expertise is a plus.
• Experience interacting with regulators a plus.

• Strong sense of ownership and accountability; is willing to be fungible and has an entrepreneurial spirit.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite of products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $120,000 and $180,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include
commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs
